Review: Natural Beauty palette by Style Essentials | Beauty

Natural Beauty
Glam-on-the-go palette by
Style Essentials review

14.07.17

Lately I have been messing around with eye shadows, in the hopes of mastering that super chic, bold, perfectly blended master piece on my eyelids. Using all the tips my fav beauty bloggers - Laura Lee, Nikkitutorials, CharismaStar, Tati, Kathleen and Promise has shared. I busted out my sad and tiny eye shadow collection and found this palette I purchased a couple of months ago in Germany, and decided to share with my thoughts on this product with you.

Natural Beauty Glam-on-the-go palette By Style Essentials.

This palette consists of 6 all shimmer/metallic shadows, 2 lip pigments, 2 blushes and a highlight, all for just €6!(about R90)

The eyeshadows:

These are great for the center of the eyelids for that pop of bling. They work best when applied with a damp brush or tapped on with a finger. These shadows are build-able and lasts all day when used with a primer and set with a setting spray. I personally only use the dark  brown shade and the two lightest shades to highlight my brow bone and the inner corners of my eyes.

★★★☆☆

The Highlighter:

The highlighter is one of my least favorite products from the palette, it is just too white, powdery and matte which is the opposite of what a highlighter should be.
However, I apply some to my cheekbones as well as a mixture of the two lightest eyeshadows over the top and it gives a great glow.
★☆☆☆☆

The Blush:

The blush shades are not as pigmented as these swatches, when used with a brush you get lots of fallout and the color payoff is really light. I only use the peachy shade, I apply it with my fingers quite heavily and blend it in with a big fluffy brush.
The shades are better suited for a pale/light skin tone I would say.

★★☆☆☆

The Lip Pigments:

This is definitely my least favorite of all the products. It's basically a tinted lip balm, it's not long lasting, very drying after a while and the colors are way to light for me.
★☆☆☆☆

In conclusion I would say that this palette would work better for someone with a lighter complexion. Overall it is a very pretty palette, the shadows are pigmented and works best with a damp brush. Despite that, the lip pigments are too light and highlighter just sucks, its too matte.
As I mentioned above; the peachy blush, the shadows and the highlight mixed with the two lightest shadows as a highlighter works great for me, it also comes with a mirror and is quite compact which is great for traveling.
So ultimately I would say this palette is a hit, we have a winner. I do think it was worth the €6 I paid for it! I picked mine up at TKMAXX and I search around but had no luck finding a place where one could purchase it elsewhere unfortunately.

Thank You so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed today's post, until next time have a blessed weekend. And remember inner beauty is what is important, it conquers all!

Orly-Grape Glitz | Nails of the day

Hi guys!
I'm back with a very short and season appropriate blog post.
Since the beginning of Spring I have been painting my nails a ton, experimenting with colours I wouldn't usually- like orange and periwinkle blues.
Although I love those shades, this beautiful soft purple shade with fine hints of shimmer has definitely been my most favorite and is perfect for spring time!

This is a sheer lacquer but it is build-able; I applied three thin coats to achieve this look. This lacquer is fast drying as well as long lasting, however to ensure longevity apply a good top coat.
This shade is soft and feminine with a touch of sparkle, perfect for every princess...I mean girl.
I would recommend this lacquer as  it gives your nails that salon finish in the comfort of your own home and will cost you a mere fraction of the price.

e.l.f. Cosmetics review

Hi guys,
Today I will be doing an e.l.f.(eyes.lips.face) review, on some of their brushes as well as swatches for three of their face products.

e.l.f is an inexpensive american founded cosmetic company, with prices that range between $1 and $6.
As far as I know e.l.f is not sold in South Africa but can be bought online. However, my parents were in America recently and of course I had to ask them to bring me all the things my favourite beauty gurus are constantly raving about.

All these items are from their Essential line, and are most definitely worth buying!

ALL * MARKED RED ARE THE AMOUNT OF STARS I GIVE THE PRODUCT

in "Sheer"
eye shadow primer
This product does exactly what it says, it holds your shadow in place all day without any creasing. The color of this primer is quite light but when blended it will work for all skin types and shades.
*****

Shimmering Facial Whip
in "Lilac Petal"
highlight
This stuff is amazing!
I normally wouldn't go for products with shimmer, but this has just the right amount of fine shimmer.
This is a perfect highlighting, and a little definitely goes a long way.
It can also be used on the lips and eyelids, however I only use it on the parts of my face I  want highlighted.
*****

in "Warm Tan"
Bronzer
I am naturally tanned so I don't need to bronze my face, but I do love using this bronzer for my contour and also as an eyeshadow.
I simply love the beautiful bronze shade on my skin and also the love amount of shimmer it adds to the skin.
*****

This brush is so soft and is perfect for blending your eyeshadow and I do however like using it to apply shadow all over my lids too.
This brush is the perfect size as it is not too big or small for blending beautifully.
*****

This little one is perfect for getting right into the crease, helping to create the perfect crease and different eye shapes.
And not to mention how soft it is too.
*****

This brush is great for packing on eyeshadow, especially on the centre of the lids. The best part about them is that they are flat, which means you can just flip the brush over and use the other side for a different eyeshadow color.
*****

This is probably my favorite brush of them all. This brush is so soft and is perfect of mineral foundations and setting powders.
It is not to large but, is the perfect size to apply your powder in just a few sweeps .
